Water Valley Housing Authority is a public housing agency providing attractive, affordable rental housing for low income families in Yalobusha County, Mississippi and the surrounding area. For 46 years low income families have lived in decent, sanitary, and safe housing while working and raising families in a stable community.

In 1957 city leaders recognized the need for removing substandard housing and replacing it with decent and affordable housing for low income citizens. The vision of these men led to a grant to explore the possibilities and later the construction of 44 apartments in two Water Valley neighborhoods.

Today there are 199 apartments in three neighborhoods which serve low income families.
Through the years these apartments have been remodeled and now all have central heat and air.
